{"id":16600,"date":"2020-11-08T16:12:01","date_gmt":"2020-11-08T15:12:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.histoiresgalantes.fr\/blog\/?p=16600"},"modified":"2020-12-10T11:15:30","modified_gmt":"2020-12-10T10:15:30","slug":"claude-gillot-peintre-langrois-maitre-de-watteau","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.histoiresgalantes.fr\/blog\/2020\/11\/08\/claude-gillot-peintre-langrois-maitre-de-watteau\/","title":{"rendered":"Claude Gillot, peintre langrois \u00ab ma\u00eetre de Watteau \u00bb"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Il n\u2019y a pas que les femmes qui passent \u00e0 la trappe de l\u2019histoire, le peintre langrois <strong>Claude Gillot<\/strong> est lui aussi tomb\u00e9 dans l\u2019oubli.<br>Et pourtant, sans lui, l\u2019art de <strong>Watteau, Lancret, Fragonnard<\/strong>, en bref, le style si r\u00e9put\u00e9 du XVIIIe si\u00e8cle appel\u00e9 \u00ab F\u00eates galantes \u00bb n\u2019existerait tout simplement pas.<br>Sixi\u00e8me des douze enfants de <strong>Jean Gillot,<\/strong> \u00ab peintre et brodeur \u00bb de l\u2019\u00e9glise de Langres, Claude Gillot s&#8217;installe \u00e0 Paris comme peintre, graveur, illustrateur et d\u00e9corateur de th\u00e9\u00e2tre fran\u00e7ais.<br>Gillot enseigne son art \u00e0 Antoine Watteau, qui selon Jean de Jullienne :<em>\u00ab profita de telle sorte des lumi\u00e8res de cet habile homme, qu\u2019il prit beaucoup de sa mani\u00e8re, et l\u2019on peut dire que d\u00e8s les commencements m\u00eames il a invent\u00e9 et dessin\u00e9 dans le gout de Gillot dont il traitait \u00e0 peu pr\u00e8s les m\u00eames sujets. [\u2026]\u00bb<\/em><br>\u00c0 peine discernait-on leurs ouvrages, et Watteau n\u2019est pas son seul disciple : Gillot eut \u00e9galement pour \u00e9l\u00e8ves Nicolas Lancret et Fran\u00e7ois
