En 1816 la famille s&#8217;installe \u00e0 Rouen. Esp\u00e9rance et son fr\u00e8re Polycl\u00e8s re\u00e7oivent un enseignement artistique de leur p\u00e8re.<br>En 1834 Esp\u00e9rance obtient une m\u00e9daille d&#8217;argent de l&#8217;Acad\u00e9mie des Beaux-arts de Rouen dans la cat\u00e9gorie &#8220;peinture de genre&#8221;. Elle travaille plusieurs ann\u00e9es \u00e0 la manufacture de S\u00e8vres, et ses r\u00e9alisations sur porcelaine sont si belles qu&#8217;elles font l&#8217;objet de nombreuses expositions en France et en Angleterre. <br>Elle grave bon nombre de plaques destin\u00e9es \u00e0 illustrer des livres, dont plusieurs de son p\u00e8re. Mari\u00e9e \u00e0 Jean-Adrien Bourlet de la Vall\u00e9e, elle est aussi connue sous ce patronyme.
