principaut\u00e9s du <strong>Saint-Empire romain germanique<\/strong>.<br>Au XVIIIe si\u00e8cle, <strong>le prince de Nassau-Sarrebr\u00fcck <\/strong>(<strong>Wilhelm Heinrich<\/strong>, 1718-1768) y fait \u00e9riger sa nouvelle r\u00e9sidence par son architecte attitr\u00e9 (<strong>Friedrich Joachim Michael Stengel<\/strong>, 1694-1787).<br><br>Il en subsiste une exceptionnelle place dite \u00ab baroque \u00bb domin\u00e9e par son ch\u00e2teau et dont l\u2019ensemble des b\u00e2timents sont sign\u00e9s Stengel. <br>\u00ab <strong>Le Palais des \u00c9tats<\/strong> \u00bb, servant autrefois de lingerie et de remise \u00e0 carrosses, abrite actuellement une tr\u00e8s belle collection d\u2019art ancien dont une galerie de portraits, du mobilier et des fa\u00efences XVIIIe. <br><br>Il abrite
