\u00c0 1h30 de Nancy, Sarrebruck <\/strong>(Saarbr\u00fccken) est une petite ville allemande baroque rococo<\/strong> \u00e0 souhait !

La \u00ab rococomania \u00bb qui toucha de plein fouet le plus petit royaume du Grand Empire romain germanique<\/strong> s\u2019explique par l\u2019engouement de son prince, Guillaume Henri de Nassau-Sarrebr\u00fcck<\/strong> (1718-1768), pour l\u2019art baroque rococo.

Ayant h\u00e9rit\u00e9 de la moiti\u00e9 du royaume de Nassau<\/strong> (qu\u2019il a partag\u00e9 avec son fr\u00e8re), Guillaume Henri , converti aux id\u00e9es des Lumi\u00e8res, prend \u00e0 c\u0153ur l\u2019embellissement de son tout petit royaume.

Tel Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric de Prusse <\/strong>(dont il est contemporain), le prince commande \u00e0 son architecte Friedrich Joachim Michael Stengel <\/strong>de nombreux b\u00e2timents (\u00e9glises, maisons et ch\u00e2teaux) qui donnent \u00e0 la ville son allure \u00ab so \u00bb princi\u00e8re.

Alors qu\u2019en France, le style baroque est plut\u00f4t sur le d\u00e9clin, Stengel<\/strong> s\u2019active \u00e0 d\u00e9corer de fa\u00e7on intempestive la moindre de ses cr\u00e9ations.
Ainsi plusieurs quartiers de Saarbr\u00fccken<\/strong> sont enti\u00e8rement recouverts de feuilles d\u2019acanthes, d\u2019arabesques, de sculptures, de bas-reliefs et de frontons\u2026 parfois dor\u00e9s !

Ce patrimoine exceptionnel, restaur\u00e9 au fil des si\u00e8cles, brille toujours de ses mille feux !
